Pinnipeds

Seals, sea lions, and walruses.

Seals, sea lions, and walruses are marine mammals that are part of the suborder Pinnipedia. These animals live in the ocean but are able to come on land for long periods of time. Offshore renewable energy devices may affect pinnipeds in a variety of ways, including attraction to or avoidance of project sites, collision with dynamic devices, and impacts from noise.
