Sea turtles are highly migratory marine reptiles that rely on several important coastal and pelagic habitats throughout their long lifespans. They also transition through several stages of development from hatchlings to adults, which nest on beaches around the world. The potential risks from the development of offshore wind and marine renewable energy. for sea turtles are the effects of electromagnetic fields, entanglement, habitat change, underwater noise, and vessel strikes. However, the main threats to sea turtles worldwide are bycatch in fishing gear, illegal harvesting, loss and degradation of nesting habitat, ocean pollution, and climate change.
