Australia

Australia is located in Oceania, covers 7,692,060 km2 (2,969,920 mile2) of land surface, and has a population of 25 million people (UN data, 2021). Australia’s primary energy production is 4,786 terawatt-hours (TWh), and energy supply per capita is 60 MWh (UN data, 2021). Oil is Australia's largest source of energy consumed, accounting for 36% of the national total (Our World in Data, 2023). Australia is home to 1,773 threatened species (UN data, 2021).
 
Australia is currently a member of Ocean Energy Systems, participating in OES-Environmental. Australia had 1 policy and 5 project highlights in the 2023 OES Annual Report.
