Environmental assessment of all stages of a project’s life.
A life cycle assessment (LCA) is a technique to assess the environmental impacts associated with all stages of a project’s life, from raw material extraction and construction to deployment, operation, and decommissioning. While land-based wind energy, offshore wind energy, and marine renewable energy technologies typically do not emit greenhouse gases during their operation, other stages of their life cycle can have adverse effects on the environment.
