University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven

The University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven was founded in 1975. Thanks to its predecessor institutions the Geestemünde Navigation College and the Municipal College the education tradition of the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven can be traced back to more than hundred years ago. Therefore, the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven distinguishes itself as the "university by the sea", not only because of its geographic location directly at the estuary of Weser, but mainly because of its 24 attractive study programmes.
As "the university by the sea" University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven has a maritime profile which can be traced back to an education tradition with over one hundred years' history. The maritime characteristic is reflected especially in the close cooperation with the industry in the field of teaching and research. We are proud that we are distinguished by an application-oriented and practice-oriented education.
