De Belgische nv Belwind bouwt de grootste hernieuwbare elektriciteitscentrale in ons land: een windturbinepark in de Noordzee met 55 turbines. Geen enkel windpark ligt verder van de kust of dieper verankerd in de zeebodem. Het is ontwikkeld in slechts 3,5 jaar en gebouwd in 13 maanden. Dit staaltje technisch vernuft zal groene stroom voorzien voor 160.000 gezinnen. Dankzij de medewerking van lokale, regionale en nationale overheden werd het project in een recordtijd gerealiseerd. 

Belwind is the second project of the Belgian North Sea and the first Parkwind project. The Belwind wind farm comprises 55 Vestas turbines with a 165 MW capacity. An additional Haliade wind turbine was added as a part of a demonstration project, raising the installed capacity to 171 MW. The Belwind turbines are operational and produce green energy since 2010 (Vestas turbines) and 2013 (Haliade turbine).

Belwind was acquired by Parkwind on 20-Jan-2017.
