Modular Energy Islands for Sustainability and Resilience (MODENERLANDS) focuses on advancing sustainable, modular, and cost-effective Floating Energy Islands to support energy generation from offshore renewable sources. This initiative fosters European R&D collaborations and aims to integrate these islands into future energy infrastructures. Organized into three Working Groups, it addresses resource assessment (WG1), modular platform construction (WG2), and advanced energy storage and transmission (WG3), including Green Hydrogen technologies. MODENERLANDS promotes synergies in research, education, and training, ultimately aiming to deploy resilient energy solutions in deep-sea environments.
The International Conference will mark the conclusion of four years of collaboration and networking supported by the COST Association, taking place on September 03–05, 2025, in Figueira da Foz, Portugal. Modenerlands’25 serves as a vital platform for knowledge dissemination across Europe, aiming to attract leading researchers, scientists, and emerging talents. Their collective expertise and insights will significantly advance the objectives of the Action.
