Name: Julie Lossent
Background: Student
Organization: France Energies Marines
Department: Acoustic Ecology
Interest: Environmental assessment - Passive acoustics
Country: France

About Me:

I'm a PhD Student in acoustic ecology at France Energies Marines (Brest). "Description with passive acoustics of benthic populations on hard bottoms" is my subject. I'm working on the spatio temporal variability of benthic acoustic productions and how to diagnose the state and trends of this populations by listening to their sounds. My objective is to develop methods which are innovative because they provide quantitative environmental monitoring of the potential impacts of marine current turbines on the benthic compartment of hard substrates for which conventional methods are lacking.
