University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover Foundation

The University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation (Stiftung Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover - TiHo) represents long-standing competence in veterinary medicine. It was founded in 1778 as the Royal School of Equine Medicine, and is the only veterinary education establishment in Germany to have preserved its independent status. The TiHo has been a foundation university since 2003; the transformation into a public foundation has brought it a new autonomy and increased flexibility.
