Instituto Mediterráneo de Estudios Avanzados: IMEDEA

The IMEDEA is a joint research institute between the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) and the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) with the main objective of the creation of knowledge to help improve the quality of life of citizens.
Our main activity is the fundamental and applied research in the area of Natural Resources. Our scope of work is the ocean and its coastline, islands which are a important part. Currently our activity is focused on the investigation of the effects that Global Exchange has in these ecosystems and how to achieve sustainable management and integrated coastal zone managers by helping to transfer knowledge created.
