Abstract
Environmental impact assessment examining potential effects on bird populations from the proposed Horns Rev 2 offshore wind farm. Six aerial surveys covering approximately 1,796 km² were conducted between November 2005 and May 2006, recording 88,810 Common Scoters and 735 divers, among other species. Analysis found that internationally significant Common Scoter populations would face displacement, with estimates of 6,173–29,135 individuals affected at the preferred site, primarily via behavioral avoidance rather than collision risk.
