This third edition of the Wind Energy and Biodiversity Seminar, organized in November 2017 by the LPO with the support of Ademe, the Ministry of Ecological and Inclusive Transition, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the SER and the FEE, brought together more of 400 people – wind power players, researchers, naturalists and government services – during two days of presentations and discussions devoted respectively to terrestrial and marine environments. It was an opportunity to establish an inventory of the development of wind power and the regulatory framework to which it is subject, but also to take stock of the potential impacts of wind farms, the means of measuring and mitigating them, with the aim of reconciling the objectives of developing renewable energies with the imperatives of preserving biodiversity.
