Abstract
Wind energy offers a relatively environmentally benign source of electricity. However, issues have been raised concerning the feasibility of placing commercial wind developments in certain geographic locations and landscape settings. Because these issues are site specific, it is critical that potential sites be evaluated independently to determine whether there are environmental issues. Conclusions about any environmental concerns for a particular site should not be based explicitly on the experience from other sites.
