Kipeto Energy PLC
Kipeto Energy PLC is a 100MW onshore wind farm in Kenya. The second largest wind farm in the country, it consists of 60 General Electric (GE) turbines, generating about 432 GWh of power annually and a key supplier to the electricity grid serving the Nairobi economic corridor.
Situated in the Esilanke area of Kajiado County, southwest of Nairobi, the wind farm spans approximately 33 km². The project is connected to the national electricity network through the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) grid at the Isinya Substation via a 17 km 220kV transmission line. Electricity generated is distributed through the national system managed by Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), strengthening reliable and sustainable power supply across the country.
