Situated in the city centre, the Durban Natural Science Museum (DNSM) is one of the oldest and most popular museums in South Africa. As the only natural science museum in South Africa falling under local government, the EThekwini Municipality, it has dynamic and innovative research and education programmes with a particular emphasis on biodiversity conservation and ecology.
