Join Berkeley Lab for a free webinar, during which they will share key information from a new report entitled “Distributional Equity in the Employment and Wage Impacts of Energy Transitions.” This report, a collaboration between the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Colorado School of Mines, provides an examination of impacts on local employment and income through the full wind project development cycle.
The authors find significant impacts that persist for several years beyond the project construction phase and that are larger than previously found. They see evidence that the largest percentage increases are enjoyed by black workers and workers who either do not have a high school diploma, or who have a college degree.
The authors will describe the data, methodology, results, and conclusions from this new report. There will also be time for participant questions and answers.
The work was made possible through funding support from the Wind Energy Technology Office at the U.S. Department of Energy.
