Hainan University is a comprehensive key university formed by merger of the former South China University of Tropical Agriculture and the former Hainan University in August 2007. Hainan University serves both the national major strategy and the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, and focuses on research fields of tropics, marine science, tourism, and Hainan FTP.
