Wind Wildlife Research Meeting XV

The 15th biennial Wind Wildlife Research Meeting (WWRM): Confronting the climate and biodiversity crises with a responsible transition to wind energy, was held from November 12-15, 2024 in Corpus Christi, Texas, and welcomed 400+ attendees from 43 U.S. states and 13 additional countries.

Featuring a keynote address from leading international energy and environmental justice scholar and senior government policy advisor Dr. Tony G. Reames, the 4-day event included 45 speakers across 7 plenary sessions, as well as 49 in-person posters and 8 on-demand presentations. The two-day plenary was proceeded by three pre-meeting workshops, two coordinated by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) and one jointly coordinated by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and USFWS. Two local field trips rounded out the week, one hosted by Bowman Consulting with presentations from USFWS and the International Crane Foundation (ICF), and the other hosted by Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc.(WEST) and REWI Partner The Conservation Fund.
