Femern A/S
Femern A/S is part of Sund & Bælt Holding A/S, which is 100 per cent owned by the Danish Ministry of Transport. Sund & Bælt Holding A/S is also responsible for the fixed link across Storebælt. Femern A/S is headquartered in Copenhagen. In addition, the company has offices in Burg (on Fehmarn) and Rødbyhavn. End December 2020 the company had 129 employees.
Femern A/S is tasked with designing and planning of the fixed link between Denmark and Germany across the Fehmarnbelt including the connections to the Danish landworks. As part of the project preparations, Femern A/S is also responsible for carrying out tenders for the construction of the coast-to-coast connection. The cost-to-coast link is a Danish-owned facility, 100 per cent financed by the Danish state, while Denmark and Germany are each responsible for financing and expanding the land facilities.
