This webinar will familiarize participants with the current landscape that shapes how scientists and technology entrepreneurs bring their ideas to reduce risks to birds and bats from conception to practice. Registrants will hear about REWI’s most recent publication, “Accelerating technology development to monitor and minimize effects from land-based wind energy on birds and bats,” an overview of the process for using minimization technologies, and then will hear two real-world examples from two current technologies in the REWI Technology Catalog: EchoSense and IdentiFlight.
The webinar will follow up with a discussion on the challenges that still exist presently to achieving validation toward the use of effective technologies in renewable energy developments across the United States and the Globe to protect wildlife and their habitats.
Speakers:
- La’ Portia Perkins, REWI (Moderator)
- Isabel Gottlieb, REWI
- Roger Rodriguez, EchoSense, LLC (Technology Catalog Vendor)
- Chris Wilson, IdentiFlight (Technology Catalog Vendor)
