Offshore Experience 2026

On Thursday, September 3, 2026, the 𝐟𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐡 edition of the Offshore Experience will take place. A special event, at a familiar and inspiring location: Theater de Kampanje in Den Helder. The Offshore Experience is aimed at professionals (from government, businesses, and knowledge institutions) and students with a special interest in topics and activities related to the North Sea.

This year, the focus is again on the blue economy. An economy centered on the North Sea: one of the busiest seas in the world, where shipping, energy, nature, fisheries, and recreation come together. How can we shape that space intelligently, sustainably, and in a future-proof way?

Theme: Multi-use

Multi-use is about utilizing the same space multiple times and sustainably, without losing sight of the ecological carrying capacity of the North Sea. By better coordinating activities, new opportunities arise: more efficient use of space, less impact on the ecosystem, and increased economic value. Think of combining wind farms with habitat restoration, aquaculture, or innovative forms of fishing.

During the Offshore Experience, we explore how multi-use can contribute to a future-proof North Sea. Together, we look ahead: how can we use the North Sea smartly, today and for generations to come?

Op donderdag 3 september 2026 vindt alweer de vijfde editie van de Offshore Experience plaats. Een lustrum jaar dus! Ook dit jaar vindt het evenement weer plaats op de prachtige locatie: de Kampanje in Den Helder. De perfecte plek om bij elkaar te komen om je één dag volledig te richten op de blauwe economie. Tevens is dit het eerste en enige event waar de blauwe economie, en daarmee de ecologische en economische waarde van de Noordzee, centraal staan.

De Noordzee is een van de drukst gebruikte zeeën ter wereld. Het gebied biedt ruimte aan scheepvaart, visserij, energieopwekking, natuurontwikkeling en recreatie. De uitdaging, en tegelijk de kans, ligt in het slim combineren van deze functies. Dat noemen we ook wel Multi Use.

Multi Use gaat over het meervoudig en duurzaam benutten van dezelfde ruimte, zonder de ecologische draagkracht van de Noordzee uit het oog te verliezen. Door activiteiten beter op elkaar af te stemmen ontstaan nieuwe mogelijkheden: efficiënter ruimtegebruik, minder impact op het ecosysteem en meer economische waarde. Denk aan de combinatie van windparken met natuurherstel, aquacultuur of innovatieve vormen van visserij.

Tijdens de Offshore Experience verkennen we hoe Multi Use kan bijdragen aan een toekomstbestendige Noordzee. Samen kijken we vooruit: hoe benutten we de Noordzee op een slimme manier, vandaag én voor de generaties na ons?
