This virtual symposium will focus on material selection and knowledge on performance of materials in actual marine environment in design of marine structures. These aspects determine the structural reliability and life assessment in terms of industrial and economic aspects. Inter-relation of corrosion and marine biofouling play a vital role for long term application IMO conventions/ regulations on clean underwater surfaces of ships and biofouling load of offshore structures would be discussed.
