Nova Scotia’s offshore wind resource is a world-class asset which positions Nova Scotia to produce clean electricity on national and global scales. A potential pathway to export markets for Nova Scotia’s offshore wind resource is through the development of a subsea transmission cable which would connect offshore wind developments in Nova Scotia to the northeastern USA. WSP and Power Advisory partnered with Net Zero Atlantic to deliver a study to assess the socioeconomic impacts of developing a subsea transmission cable.
Through this webinar, WSP and Power Advisory will present the findings of this study, including project design considerations, an offshore wind export market assessment, the additional offshore wind buildout in Nova Scotia enabled by a subsea transmission cable, and the potential project’s economic impacts, trade and skills requirements, and social impacts.
