FFI is the prime institution responsible for defence related research and development in Norway.

Our research is always aimed at specific practical goals, an approach known as applied research. Specifically, this means that through advising, analyses and development of technology, we enable the Armed Forced and civil society institutions to protect our country in new and more effective ways.
