Turbulence refers to rapid variations in wind speed and direction, creating vortex structures that exert significant stress on wind turbines and affect the wake dynamics between turbines in wind farms. To accurately characterize wind and turbulence, offshore measurements are essential for refining the numerical models used in wind energy applications.
This webinar will present the results from the JIP POWSEIDOM and DRACCAR-NEMO which aim to provide industry with high-performance measurement and modelling tools to assess turbulence at all types of sites to optimise the design of wind turbines and farms.
