Elena Caja, HSSEQ Director – Ocean Winds: Elena Caja is the Director of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Quality at Ocean Winds (OW). OW is a joint venture between global energy companies Engie and EDP Renewables. Its offshore wind portfolio consists of 11.2 gigawatts (gross) with 12 projects in seven countries, including two the U.S: Mayflower (MA) and Central Bight (NY). An electrical engineer, Elena also has an MBA and a Master’s Degree in Health & Safety. While she started her career in the energy sector, Caja quickly shifted to concentrate on the health & safety side of the industry. She has worked in numerous countries, including China, Spain, and the U.S, which has given her an opportunity to become familiar with many cultures and integrate aspects of them into her core values. Elena demonstrates a broad perspective and knowledge about her area of responsibility.
Beate Hildenbrand, Head of Americas – G+: Beate is Head of Americas for G+, a Global Offshore Wind Health and Safety Organization. G+ is run in partnership with the Energy Institute and is committed to promoting and maintaining the highest possible standards of health and safety throughout the lifecycle of offshore wind farms. With an educational background in earth sciences and geography, Beate started her career as a project manager in atmospheric research and data modelling, before working as the technical manager for Environment and Health at the Energy Institute. Beate joined G+ in 2018 as a manager for offshore wind. Hildenbrand was promoted in 2022 to Head of G+ Americas, where she stewards the growth of the G+ program and network in the Americas.
