This is a virtual meeting of the Maine Offshore Wind Research Consortium Advisory Board. The webinar will include updates from the following research groups on current projects funded through the Research Consortium:
Gulf of Maine Research Institute: assessing social, cultural, and economic impacts of floating offshore wind on fishing communities. This assessment is a follow-up to the baseline data inventory that was completed last year by Karp Strategies.
Biodiversity Research Institute: collecting baseline acoustic data to understand bat species' presence and abundance in the Gulf of Maine.
University of Maine: evaluating marine wildlife entanglement risks and potential debris retrieval technologies.
