AB - Wave Dragon Wales Ltd (referred to herein as WDWL) is proposing the construction, installation, operation and decommissioning of a pre-commercial demonstration wave energy converter device off the Pembrokeshire Coast. The proposed development is called the Wave Dragon Pre-Commercial Demonstrator.The demonstration project is being partly funded by the Welsh Assembly Government under the Objective 1 initiative. The device is intended to be tested for up to 5 years, whereupon it will be removed from the site and the site decommissioned.The Wave Dragon device proposal is for a full scale floating slack moored wave energy converter. The Wave Dragon Company has been working toward commercialisation of the device for 3 years, and has deployed a prototype in Denmark since 2003 where reliable power production has already been demonstrated.
