Pacific Regional Institute for Marine Energy Discovery (PRIMED)
The Pacific Regional Institute for Marine Energy Discovery (PRIMED) is a research lab that situates as an individual division of the Accelerating Community Energy Transformation (ACET) initiative, specializing in Marine Renewable Energy. PRIMED and ACET are hosted by the Institute for Integrated Energy Systems of Victoria (IESVic) in the engineering department at the University of Victoria (UVic), which has been engaged in marine renewable energy (MRE) research for over 20 years.
Collaborating with communities, private sector, academia, and government to provide pathways forward through focused research for the implementation of, and scale up of, marine renewable energy projects (wave, offshore wind and tidal) in British Columbia while contributing to the state of knowledge globally.
