MASTS at Queen’s University Belfast– A Northern Ireland and Global Perspective
Queen's University Belfast joined MASTS as a partner in 2025. Katrina will provide an overview of the Research being conducted at the School of Biological Sciences at Queen’s University. She will also touch on Queen’s Marine Lab as it hosts an interdisciplinary team of biologists, oceanographic modellers, chemists, and engineers. This talk will examine applied research in areas such as marine resources, restoration, invasive species control, and fisheries management, and blue-skies research in organismal biology including anatomy, phylogenetics, and ecosystem dynamics and aquaculture safety. Kate Wright (Heriot-Watt University) and Bee Berx (Marine Directorate - Scottish Government) are co-convenors of the MCC Forum and will chair the session.
The session will feature a live discussion with the session chair and live audience Q&A after the presentation.
