TY - JOUR TI - Energy Performances and Life Cycle Assessment of an Italian Wind Farm AU - Ardente, F AU - Beccali, M AU - Cellura, M AU - LoBrano, V T2 - Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews AB - This is an evaluation paper of an Italian farm. The purpose is to analyze the energy production and environmental friendliness of this wind farm. This study examines the following life cycle steps: manufacturing of wind farm and other components, construction of building structure and auxiliary facilities, operation and maintenance, transports occurring during each phase, and future plants disposal. The largest environmental impacts comes from the manufacturing of the turbines and other building infrastructure. These include air emissions, solid wastes, and other small quantities of hazardous materials.
