AB - E.ON Climate and Renewables Developments Ltd (E.ON) is proposing to develop two adjacent wave energy projects off the west coast of Orkney called West Orkney Middle South and West Orkney South. If both of these areas are developed to their full potential, they could provide up to 100 megawatts (MW) of capacity, making a significant contribution to the Scottish Government’s renewable energy and emissions reduction targets.The following scoping report has been produced to provide regulatory authorities, statutory advisers and key stakeholders with an outline of the West Orkney South (WOS) project, the existing environment in which it will be constructed and operated, and the potential environmental impacts arising from these activities. West Orkney Middle South (WOMS) will be the subject of a separate scoping report.
