TY - RPRT TI - Vegetation Types and Valuable Habitats at the Islets Sandholmene in Rost Municipality, Nordland County - Impact Assessment in Relation to Planned Construction of Wind Power Station AU - Bjerke, J AB - (The majority of the report is in Norwegian. However, there is an abstract in English.)The company Vindkraft Nord AS plans to construct a wind power station at the islets Sandholmene in Rost Municipality, Nordland County. The Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) has evaluated the impacts on the natural environment for the topics vegetation types and valuable habitats. The assessment is based exclusively on previous investigations within and right outside the investigation area. No field investigations were undertaken for this particular assessment. Several vegetation types and valuable habitats were identified in the area, based on the species lists retrieved from various sources. In total, 79 species of vascular plants have hitherto been recorded from the islets. Some of the valuable habitats are evaluated as important, whereas some vegetation types are evaluated as vulnerable. The total area is therefore considered to be of intermediate value. The planned constructions may have intermediary negative impacts on the vegetation and flora within the investigation area, as long as no actions are taken to reduce the negative impacts. Possible ameliorating efforts are described. In order to delimit the negative impacts, a field investigation should be undertaken so that the exact position and extent of valuable habitats can be identified and mapped.Norwegian Title: Natur- og vegetasjonstyper på Sandholmene i Røst kommune, Nordland - Konsekvensutredning i forbindelse med planlagt vindkraftutbygging DA - 2005/03// PY - 2005 SP - 26 PB - Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) SN - 18 UR - http://www.nina.no/archive/nina/PppBasePdf/rapport/2005/18.pdf LA - English KW - Wind Energy KW - Land-Based Wind KW - Ecosystem Processes ER -
